He runs into Dory (Ellen DeGeneres), an extremely absent-minded Blue Tang fish who forgets everything a moment after learning it. His son's impudence gets him captured by a deep sea diver and hauled off in a speed boat, which Marlin has no chance of catching. Still fretting over the near-total wipe out of his family, Marlin is a very reluctant to take his son to school but does so. Cut to the future, when Marlin is living alone with his one surviving offspring Nemo (Alexander Gould). When he comes to, his wife and all but one of their eggs are gone. Plans get thrown into chaos when a vicious-looking barracuda shows up. There the two plan to raise their four hundred children, currently a mass of tiny eggs in a small cave. The Movie Marlin (Woody, er, Albert Brooks) and Coral (Elizabeth Perkins) are the proud new owners of a sea anemone with a stellar view of the ocean. It's got all of the usual elements we love about Pixar movies and animation in general and is probably the most emotional Pixar film yet, in several ways. Finding Nemo was the top grossing movie of 2003 and Pixar's biggest success yet. Not likely any time soon, with Brad Bird's The Incredibles coming next year, unless its marketing gets screwed up as badly as The Iron Giant. Pixar Animation Studios hasn't failed yet, and I'll bet more than a few people are praying for it to happen.
